Robert B. Weide Retrospective


BSDFF is honored and thrilled to welcome Robert Weide as the subject of the 2014 Festival's retrospective. Widely known for his work as principal director and executive producer of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Weide is an Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker who specializes in the stories of comic icons, having made acclaimed films about The Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields, Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce and Woody Allen. Among the expected highlights of Weide's visit to this year's festival is a Q&A session following the screening of the pilot episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was originally slated as a one-off mockumentary. He is currently in production on a documentary about author Kurt Vonnegut, with whom Weide shared a close friendship.
