Feelin' No Pain

World Premiere

In his 50s, Kenny Vance, founder of Jay and the Americans, starts The Planotones, an oldies band to renew his childhood passion for singing. Searching for childhood memories of early musical influences he revisits old Brooklyn haunts: Erasmus Hall High School where he sang as a kid and the Brooklyn Paramount where he first heard his musical heros. Kenny also searches other paths for his mid-life plea for happiness. He reminisces and sings with childhood music icons like Little Anthony, Vito Picone (The Elegants), Cleveland Still (The Dubs), and Pookie Hudson (The Spaniels). After three of his long time band members quit Kenny is forced to recruit new band members to continue his dream. The film is laced with wonderful songs filmed at a Planotones concert at New York’s Bitter End.
