HItler's Hat

Montana Premiere

Richard Marowitz, a Jewish-American GI, was present at the search of Hitler’s Munich apartment in April 1945. Finding a black top hat, Marowitz flew into a rage, stomping on the hat and then donning it in imitation of Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator. That same day, Hitler committed suicide in his bunker. Absurd and poignant in equal measure, Hitler’s Hat follows Marowitz to a reunion of his division after 55 years.
