Big Sky Documentary Film Festival HQ and Box Office will be located at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP) in the heart of downtown the official storefront for the festival! Head to Festival HQ to buy tickets, pick up will call tickets and passes, buy festival merchandise and find more info about what’s happening around Missoula during BSDFF. RMSP is also the official 2017 DocShop venue.

Festival HQ opens Friday, February 17th at 12:00pm.

The Wilma

A modernized 1920s vaudeville house-turned live event venue on the banks of the Clark Fork river, The Wilma is a state-of-the-art facility within a spectacular historic building. Locally owned an operated, The Wilma is the stunning centerpiece of Missoula’s live entertainment scene and has been home to BSDFF since 2005. 


The Roxy Theater

Missoula’s film-culture heartbeat and community cinema, The Roxy Theater presents a wide array of indie, foreign and classic films as well as theater and community events. A local establishment since the late 1930s, The Roxy is also home to many educational programs and produces two indie film festivals in house. 

Silver screenings from Fri. Feb 24 will take place at the Roxy, Theater 2.


Hellgate Elks Lodge Theater

One of many iconic early 20th Century buildings in Missoula, the Hellgate Elks Lodge has been host to myriad entertainment and community events for over a century. Just one block off the Higgins Avenue downtown artery, the Elks Lodge theater will be the anchor venue of the festival, hosting a captivating lineup of films, the festival filmmaker lounge, daily happy hours and special late night events in the Elks main floor venue, Stage 112.


MCT Center for the Performing Arts

A state-of-the-art performing arts facility, the MCT is a thriving local theater presenting community theater, childrens theater, performing arts camps and traveling productions that tour internationally. BSDFF is thrilled to screen in this beautiful space for the 14th annual festival. Silver screenings from Sun. Feb 19, Mon. Feb 20 & Sun. Feb 26 will take place here, as well as our special festival event, a spectacular multimedia dance/film performance called HEALING BLUE


The Public House

This brand new community space in downtown Missoula opened in 2016 as a gathering place for events and groups of all kinds. BSDFF will transform this space into a alternative screening room for two days of the festival. Silver screenings from Thurs. Feb 23 and Sat. Feb 25 will take place here.
