Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 2008 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival! Now in our fifth year, we are again pleased to present Missoula with the best in documentary film.
Created in 2004, The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is a unique cinematic celebration of non-fiction filmmaking. With your help, our festival has evolved into an internationally recognized venue showcasing innovative, contemporary, and classic works.
This year's show includes 106 extraordinary films from more than 40 countries, a selection chosen from nearly 1000 submissions. The 2008 program is truly distinguished, offering the most diverse exhibition of work to ever screen under the Big Sky--taking you from rural Montana to the moon! Downtown's historic Wilma Theatre hosts a week-long visual immersion into a world where reality plays itself.
All competition films are shown on Montana's largest screen, the 1100-seat Wilma. A number of sneak previews, classics and works-in-progress are screened in the adjacent 100-seat Wilma 2. With packed audiences of avid moviegoers, most films are accompanied by a Q&A with their respective filmmakers.
We cordially invite you to the Wilma Theatre, February 14 - 20, 2008 as we showcase the best in compelling and artistic nonfiction film.
Enjoy!
