SPIT ON THE BROOM is a surrealist documentary exploring the African American women’s group the United Order of Tents, a clandestine organization formed during the height of the Underground Railroad. The film uses 100 years of newspaper clippings, public record and a visual tapestry of fable and myth to introduce a secret history.
